The UL scientific students’ conference ‘Homo et..’ is the first scientific students’ conference organised by the Students’ council of the University of Latvia. Regardless of the chosen study programme, it is a great opportunity for students to share their research results, whether integrated into studies or not, and thus mark their first steps in the vast field of science.

 

Topics

Research topic applications are accepted by 4 October 2019 in four sections of the conference, which will, directly or indirectly, observe the humane interactions with the world in the broadest possible manner. Homo et persona. Homo et societas. Homo et natura. Homo et innovationes. Research studies of various scientific fields will be interacting, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches. Simultaneously with the section plenaries, workshops and masterclasses will be directed by nationally and internationally renowned experts and specialists of numerous fields of science.

Grand Prizes

In collaboration with SEB banka, the highest-rated participants of each conference section will receive a 200 EUR award.

At the hand of our partnership with ‘Satori’, a culture and independent thought-focused magazine, one of the research
presentations will be chosen during the conference to be published in the online magazine ‘Satori’.

Application process

Do you want to take part in the conference? The application process is simple:

1. Come up with a research topic fitting one of the sections and apply by sending a topic application to the e-mail konference@lusp.lv by 4 October;

2. Await a topic confirmation e-mail from the respective scientific committee by 21 October, and after that you may certainly start writing the paper.

3. By 14 November turn in your research paper for evaluation, and add your presentation promptly;

4. Participate in the conference with your research paper 21-22 November.
